July 7, 2021 White Loosestrife

We appreciate this flower for it's white spikiness. Although it does spread, this is not the invasive loosestrife we see growing in wetlands.

July 8, 2021. Butterfly weed has two important purposes here.

It not only makes a lovely cut flower, it feeds the Monarch caterpillar. With the loss of habit in this area, we try to grow quite a bit of it in several varieties.
